Giclée is the method of printing on various papers. It is the French term for spraying these different papers with ink. Now, it used primarily with giclée printers for quality photos and pictures. It’s very similar to canvas photo printing. The ink used for canvas photos are light, and fast. They are also able to create perfect photos without too smudging or leaving any trace of pixels. For quality pictures, here are some printing tips for you to follow.

1. Choose a finish that compliments your picture. You don’t always have to print on gloss. Most gloss finish is great for portraits, photos and family pictures. They tend to resemble the shine that you would see on most camera-developed photographs. But, canvas photo printing does allow you to choose between glossy, matte or satin. Matte is perfect for landscapes, abstract art and reproductions of painted art. Satin works best for photographs, and gives black and white photos a stunning look.

2. Choose a size that fits you. For most canvas photo printing, you’ll want to choose a size for the photo that is reasonable for you. Most people want something that fits the area of their home or office. If you would like a large picture on your wall, but don’t have the largest spot, opt for tych framing. This form of framing is done by spreading a large picture over several pieces of canvas. It’s divided up into two, three or more sections and wrapped about individual frames. The look for this type of framing is stylish and can accent any wall. Most people may find this style of framing fits their décor better than a large piece of canvas tacked to the wall.

3. Choose effects for your canvas photo printing. Do you need any changes or manipulations done to your photos? Some pictures may need a few adjustments such as removing red eye or cropping. Others may require brightening a subject or brightening parts of the subject such as the eyes or teeth. More extreme changes to a photo can be cutting the subject out from the background, fading the background or even leaving the subject in color while the rest of the photo is in black and white. This all depends on what your needs are for your photos. Most drastic photo changes are often made to make a statement for a specific reason. Or, they enhance your picture for personal reasons.

Imagine you meet the love of your life. You take some amazing photos. The weekend is over and you are think about sending flowers. Are you nuts? It’s expensive, lame and in four days they are in the trash. If it were me, I would be thinking about picture framing. Upload one of those great images, pick a frame, and have it delivered. Now that’s a surprise! Not only are we good at picture framing, we can make those zits or wrinkles disappear. Start making those wedding plans.

It wasn’t so long ago that frames for photos were 4″ x 6″. Why? That was the size you got returned from the photo printer. You have this great photo, but it gets relegated to a tiny little frame on someone’s desk. You have to hold it up to make out the people in the photo. If you had a need for larger frames for photos, you probably did a session with a portrait studio that would enlarge and print the portrait. Unfortunately, you would then need to go to a custom frames for photos shop to finish the work yourself.

Digital cameras are a game changer. You can take hundreds of photos. Your not stuck with 4″x6″ output. With cropping and retouching, you can get square, panoramic, rectangular frames for photos. You can create a really dramatic wall art photo collection. The possibilities are endless.

If you got lucky and there was a perfect photo you wanted to frame and hang, you would take the negative to specialty shop that could enlarge and print. Then you had to take the enlargement to a custom picture frame shop and have them frame it. A couple of months later and several hundred dollars, you had finished wall art.

In the old days, digital cameras came on the scene. Now you could take hundreds of photos and delete the bad ones. You know right away that you had something worth framing. However, you still had to go to a printer and then a custom picture frame shop. Still time consuming and expensive.

Today, you take great digital photos, drop them on your desktop and pick the ones you like. Then click on your browser to a company like us and simple pick a custom picture frame and upload your image. We print, frame and ship right to your door in just a few days. Isn’t living in the future a wonderful thing?

Important documents must be preserved for a very long time. Decades for many valuable documents. Standard papers and ink slowly degrade over time. Standard papers are made with high levels of acid that is the root cause. Thankfully, Archival paper is made with slight alkaline or with neutral pH to prevent yellowing and brittleness as the paper ages.

Newspapers lie at the complete opposite end of paper longevity. They are meant to be read day one and recycled on day two, therefore the cheapest inks and papers are used. Signs of yellowing occurs within a couple of weeks.

The process of making Archival paper is far more complex than newsprint. It also makes it more expensive. The paper is treated to remove the lignin (which cause the yellowing). Then it is treated with soda ash or calcium carbonate to make it pH neutral. Archival paper is much more friendly to ink holding the true color for a very long time. Inks can also be classified as Archival. Inks that are fade resistant for up to 75 years are considered Archival.

When you combine Archival ink and paper, the result is a product that will typically outlast a person’s lifespan. Fortunately, we only use archival inks and papers and thus, your great grandchildren will be able to enjoy your fantastic framed photos as much as you will.

I was trying to do two things as once and dropped my HTC Incredible on the only rock within 10 feet of where I was standing. Bye-Bye phone. Just got the new HTC Thunderbolt and have been playing with the camera. It takes a really nice shot for a phone. It’s an 8MP, which I believe is the best on the market right now.

I also tested to make sure it works with snapartwork.com. Imagine that. I jumped onto the website and the home page animation looked great. Functioned perfectly. I picked my favorite frame and scrolled down the page to the uploader. I clicked on it and easily navigated to photo folder and found the image I just took. It took just a few seconds to upload my image. I selected my special effects and checked out. It was a “snap” pun intended. Unfortunately, you can’t do any of this with your IPhone. Ya see the makers of the device have funny rules and restrictions. So if you are looking for a great phone with a great camera that gives you the freedom to surf flash websites, etc. the Thunderbolt is a very good option.

When choosing a picture frame for a photograph, there are several important considerations to make. You want a picture frame that will set off the picture nicely. You want a frame that won’t clash with the existing décor in your home or office. You want a frame that will draw the eye to the photograph inside without overpowering it. Fortunately, there are frames in every color of the rainbow to help you to get the aesthetic that you’re looking for. Whether you choose a white photo frame, a blue picture frame, a red photo frame, or green picture frame, there’s bound to be a color photo frame that’s a great fit for your home or office.

You can choose a color photo frame to match your existing home décor. Every color scheme can benefit from a bright pop of color here and there. By using a red photo frame as an accent, you can liven up a room done in neutrals. A green picture frame in a room painted a different shade of green will draw the eye without fighting the rest of the room for attention. A blue picture frame can bring a sense of cool and calm to a warm and vibrant room. Or you could choose a white photo frame, which will go with any color scheme.

You can also choose a color photo frame based on the colors in the photo you’d like to display. If the picture features red, then a green picture frame could provide a nice contrast between the color in the photo and the frame, focusing the attention on the photo itself. If there’s a picture with a lot of sky in it, a blue picture frame can extend the blue of the sky out to the rest of the room. Black-and-white photographs would look great in a white photo frame or a red photo frame.

No matter which color photo frame you’re looking for, whether you want contrast or continuity, there are plenty of options to choose from. Picking the right photo frame can take a picture and help it to blend seamlessly into the décor of your home or office. So whether you choose the white photo frame, blue picture frame, red photo frame, or green picture frame, you’re sure to get plenty of compliments on your choice of frame. Put some color into your life, literally and figuratively, with colored photo frames.
